About us.
How we started.
In 2012, our leader Kim, had an idea. He invited a small group to lunch and explained the concept of taking a little from each of us that would not seriously impact our individual wallets, but collectively could make a life-impacting change to someone in need.
Who have we helped?
We maintain confidentiality of beneficiaries to protect their privacy, but over the years beneficiaries have included people who were homeless, destitute, substance addicted, victims of domestic violence, refugees, and natural disaster victims. In short, people who needed a break in life. How they got there and whether they are at fault for their circumstance is not of interest to us, and we are not there to be judgemental. Helping is our primary driver.
What we are not.
We are not a registered charity with tax deductibility status.
We are not the Head Office of Small Things Matter, just the originators looking to help others to discover the joy of giving.
